Everything you need to get started making your own reusable food wax wraps at home presented in a cardboard presentation box which can be reused or recycled, or cleverly made into a zero-waste bundle wrapped in itself.

Maybe you or someone you know has some fabric set aside, or possibly some old wraps that need re-waxing, either way this kit includes two 30 x 30 cm pieces of fabric and one 20 x 20cm pieces of fabric as a starter kit and you will still have plenty of wax left over to get creative. Old cotton duvet covers or pillow cases make great fabric for up-cycled wax wraps.

Gift Set includes;

1 x 100g bar of Beeswax, Pine Resin and Jojoba Oil (will make at least 5-6 large 30cm x 30cm wraps using the melting method, possibly more if grating the wax)

4 x Sheets of greaseproof paper

3 x Starter pieces of light cotton fabric (2 x 30cm x 30cm, 1 x 20cm x 20cm)

1 x Full instruction sheet with two methods for making the wraps.

We will also donate 50p of our profits from this gift set to one of our chosen charity partners and we would like you to choose which one from the drop down options.

Benefits of Wax Food Wraps

Wax Food Wraps are the ideal alternative to cling film, tin foil and disposable plastic bags. The carefully blended mixture of Beeswax, Pine Resin and Jojoba Oil create a waxy coating that helps the fabric adhere to itself or a surface such as bowl or a plate.

Often using wax food wraps can lengthen the life span of food items because unlike plastic, the wrap allows air to pass through avoiding 'sweating' whilst preventing the food from drying out.

You can use wax wraps for covering sandwiches, fruit, cakes, biscuits, bread, food left overs, bowls... anything that you would usually use plastic or tin foil for. It is however advised that they are not used for raw fish or meat due to the risk of bacteria.

Caring for your wax wraps

To clean wraps after use, wash them in cool soapy water and hang to dry. Using hot water will cause the wax to melt off the fabric and reduce the lifespan of the wrap.

 Packaging

Packaged in a recyclable box with shredded paper and tied with an optional natural hessian bow and gift tag (free of charge).
