This lovely selection of four wooden blocks are all hand carved from mango wood then hand painted with pretty pattern designs. They come in their own hand made cotton bag and are perfect for homemade gift wrap, fabric printing or crafts.
Benefits
The printing blocks are hand carved by WFTO accredited producers in India. They are made entirely by hand using traditional skills handed down from generation to generation which means that each one is unique but just as perfect.
Mango trees have an extremely long life but eventually do stop bearing fruit and are replaced by younger trees. As India produces, by far, the most mangos in the world this results in a massive industry using one of the most sustainable woods available.

How they are produced
These products are made by TARA Projects (Trade Alternative Reform Action). They are a WFTO and Fair Trade Forum India organisation that we have wanted to work with for a long time. We are really pleased that we have now the opportunity to work with such dedicated people.
TARA projects began in the early 1970's with the object of creating opportunities and support for economically disadvantaged home based artisans and crafts people of Delhi and its surrounding areas. Over the years the project has extended its work into the adjoining states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.
TARA project's provides services to enable the production and marketing of handicrafts following Fair Trade principles, alongside providing education and support to empower the grass roots crafts people.
All the heart of TARA project's work is dedicated to eradicating poverty by fighting against exploitation and illiteracy of the producers and its working communities.
